Oolong Tea

Peach Oolong Cold Brew

Hello Peachy is one of Muave's signature blends, and it is practically made for cold brewing. The light, oxidation-level of oolong provides a creamy mouthfeel that carries the peach notes perfectly.

Prep: 5 mins
Steep: 6-8 hours
Servings: 4
Difficulty: Easy
Glass of Hello Peachy oolong tea with fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. 1

Add 4 teaspoons of Hello Peachy loose leaf tea to your pitcher or jar.

  2. 2

Pour in 1 litre of cold filtered water. Oolong is a delicate tea, so using filtered water really helps the floral notes shine.

  3. 3

Give it a quick stir to ensure all the leaves are submerged.

  4. 4

Cover and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Oolong is slightly more hardy than white tea but more delicate than black tea, so this timing is the "sweet spot".

  5. 5

Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer.

  6. 6

Serve over ice, ideally in a tall glass to enjoy the beautiful golden-amber hue.

Tips

  • You can re-steep these leaves! After your first batch, add more water and steep for another 12 hours for a lighter, second infusion.
  • Serve without sweetener first—the Hello Peachy blend is naturally quite sweet.
  • Cold brew oolong is less bitter than hot-brewed, making it a great entry point for those new to this tea type.

Variations

  • Sparkling Peachy: Mix 50/50 with sparkling water and a squeeze of lime.
  • Peach & Thyme: Add a fresh thyme sprig while steeping for a sophisticated herbal twist.

Why Hello Peachy is the Perfect Iced Tea

When it comes to cold brewing, Oolong is the hidden gem of the tea world. It sits right between green and black tea in terms of oxidation, which gives it a unique complexity.

Muave's Hello Peachy takes this complexity and adds a layer of sun-ripened peach. In a hot cup, the aromatics are lovely, but when cold-brewed, the peach flavor becomes much more \"juicy\" and realistic. It tastes like the essence of a summer afternoon.

Flavour Profile

The first note is high-floral, reminiscent of gardenias or lilies, followed immediately by a velvety peach sweetness. The finish is remarkably smooth with a hint of roasted nuts—a classic characteristic of a good oolong.

Perfect Pairings

This tea is a star on its own, but it also works beautifully alongside a light brunch—think Eggs Benedict or a fruit-topped brioche.
